9 Weeks and counting

Hi everybody

It is early on Saturday and LeAnn has to work tonight. It is a bummer, but it is how she had to schedule herself. Oh well. At least she is feeling pretty good. She made up her last schedule before the baby is born this week.

Baby Nathan is growing and growing. He (at our dr. appointment on Wednesday) was head down and ready to come out, but he still has a little bit of growing to do. The doctor said that everything was looking very good. We are still planning on being at the hospital around Sept 20th, but that is subject to change. The last ultrasound said 6 days early, and LeAnn is starting to show that as a good possibility.

I have gotten my first paycheck. I got a bigger raise then I expected. Instead of about a dollar raise, I got about a dollar and a half. What a suprise. I should also be able to take off a week when the baby is born. Another relief.

Next week, I have training all week. With the new techs only working 6 hours per day, it will be a challenge. I have to get them scheduled and then work on getting myself scheduled. I will be semi-responsible for their hours and workloads. I have been able to keep up on the work orders on my own so far, but have had to push some of them back due to teachers not being there. Also on Monday, my techs will get their laptops and need to configure them. We have come up with a list of software that each tech will need to have installed, but it will be up to the techs to install it.

We are going to see HARRY POTTER!!!!!!!!! I am really looking forward to this, as the book was really good. If only they would release the final movies starting this fall.....

I hope everybody has a good week. I am sure that I will (even though I will be in classes almost the whole time). For those of you in Tucson, try to enjoy the rain and don't go outside if you don't have to (105+ all week from what I heard).

Weekly Update

We have had a pretty good week. My parents returned from Wyoming on Tuesday, where they spread my grandmother's ashes.

On Wednesday night, we got a very bad thunderstorm. The satellite went out for a couple of hours due to the storm. We had hail and a crazy dog. Luckily, it was over before I went to bed and the crazy Lucky dog calmed down. Right now, the storms seem to be every other day. It sure is nice to get some rain (especially when it is expected to be 112 today).

My first full week of work went ok. Nothing big happened (other than an AC unit freezing with 2-4 inches of ice, including all the refrigerant pipes). Next week, we have training on Thursday and Friday. Nothing big, but important stuff. I am trying to get into schools to set up my techs with locations. It is hard when the staff is on vacation until August and the maintenance staff is waxing the floors.

LeAnn is doing good. The pregnancy is in about 10 weeks. Luckily, we have most of the nursery ready to go. The dresser is still not here, but the baby does have somewhere to sleep. We got a pack and play from Craigslist (Thanks Steve and Donna) and it is exactly what we wanted. LeAnn is more tired then ever due to the baby. Nathan is kicking a lot and wiggling around even more. Every time I try to feel him kick, he stops moving and doesn't want me to feel. I guess I just calm him down.

For those of you who don't know, LeAnn's baby shower is August 22nd. Announcements should be sent out fairly quickly. We have registered at Babies R Us and Target. Also, we have a universal registry located on Amazon.

I hope everybody stays dry and cool. Have a good week.

4th of July Weekend

The holiday weekend has officially started for me. I got out of work at 2:45 today (we get out 45 minutes early on holiday weekends). LeAnn is sleeping. Work has been good. I have now started and am slowly assuming my new duties. Right now, the elementary and middle schools are shut down. Only the High Schools are open. I am in charge of 3 people and have 11 schools under me. With school starting in 7 weeks (and one is gone with training), It will be a challenge to get to all of the schools and make sure they are all up and running. I plan on having the schools under contract reimaged within the next couple of weeks. After that, we will all be prepared to go and work on getting all of the non-contract schools done. It will be busy starting next week.

LeAnn is also working hard. She has entered the home stretch for the baby (less than 3 months to go now). She is now looking pregnant (at least to me). We are still preparing the baby's room, looking for items, and just getting ourselves prepared for our new arrival.

We had a microburst hit our house this week during monsoon storms. It took off a total of 10 tiles. Luckily, it didn't break the tar paper because it did rain the next two days before they could get it fixed. At least nothing else was damaged and nobody was hurt.

Not much else is going on. I hope everyone has a happy 4th of July.

Please pray for Katie, LeAnn and the baby, and for all of you who will be traveling over this long weekend.

Father's Day Weekend

Another Father's Day has come and gone. It was just another day for me, but it will be a good day next year. LeAnn is 27 weeks along and doing very well. The baby is developing just as it is supposed to. The doctor said that the baby is about 6 days ahead of schedule, but that may change. They will not change her due date until she is either 10 days after or before her due date. We are hoping for after (so LeAnn can be home for Christmas).

On Saturday, I got my new car. It is a khaki 2009 Hyundai Sonata. I really like it (especially the radio, which is controlled by the steering wheel and has XM Satellite Radio). It runs really smooth, compared to my truck. We got a smoking deal on it. I am also averaging 28-29 miles per gallon (a whole lot better than the 20-22 that I was getting in my truck).

In less than a week, I start working again. I want it to hurry up, as I am getting bored around the house. The school board needs to approve my hiring before I am official (which will happen tomorrow). After this, I should get quite a bit of paperwork to fill out and find out where I will be working. I will also find out who is under me.

We are going to go and do our final baby registry today. For those of you who can make it, the baby shower is scheduled for 2pm on August 22nd. LeAnn is registered at Baby's R Us, Target, and Amazon.Com (Amazon had a great deal and allows us to put items from any website onto one registry).

That's it for now. Have a good week!

PS - Please pray for Katie and her job situation. It is not a happy one right now.

Great News!!!!!

Hi everybody.

Just before LeAnn left for work tonight, I got a phone call. This was the best phone call so far this month. I just got offered the Lead tech position with TUSD. This means that I have a full-time 12 month position. This comes with a substantial pay raise and responsibility level. I am sooooo happy.

In other news, I also had 2 interviews today (less than 6 hours apart). This wasn't that big of a deal (both for the aforementioned position).

We have decided on a name for baby Totten. The baby's name is Nathan Douglas. This is the compromise that we came up with, because I wanted James Douglas and LeAnn wanted something else (sorry LeAnn, I can't remember what it was). From now on, we are going to refer to the baby at Nathan.

I am also cleaning up the garage in anticipation of the big event, I finally get a car with air conditioning. We should be able to get a new car this weekend. This will be in preparation for the baby's arrival and needed transportation. LeAnn and I have looked at a Hyundai Sonata and she fits easily in it. She may need to start driving it as she gets bigger (and looks more pregnant).

That is all for tonight. Thank you all for your prayers and thoughts.

Please continue to pray for Katie and her job situation, LeAnn and baby Nathan, and Donna.

I hope you all have a good week.

My Continuation...

I am studying hard for my test. I have my assessment on Tuesday morning, with my interview on Thursday. I think they are going to interview everybody. I just want to pass the test, as I can get through the interview.

VBS is finally over. We had over 180 kids each day for the week. We also had 140+ volunteers to help out. It was a lot of fun. The kids really enjoyed it.

Yesterday we went to the funeral of the grandmother of one of our small group members. Her grandmother had been a member of Northwest Bible for many years. The memorial was nice. A lot of tears were shed. It was obvious that she will be missed by more people than attended.

My grandmother's ashes will be spread during July 4th weekend. I really don't want to go, even though it has been offered to me. I just don't feel the need to, as I had my closure with my grandmother while she was here.

This week, on top of my assessment and interview, I have to finish the rewiring of the house (installing all new cable lines to the house for satellite TV), clean the garage and back yard, trim some of the trees up (so I can get into my car) and clean the house. LeAnn has to work tonight, so some of it will be done then.

I have got to wake up LeAnn so she can go and do labwork for the baby. It is time for her glucose tolerance test. We don't think there is an issue, it is just a normal test they give everybody. Luckily, they baby is 26 weeks and everything seems fine.

We have decided on a name, but are not going to publish it just yet. Everybody will have to wait quite a few more weeks for that...... However, it will be named after my dad and LeAnn's dad.

Please pray for the Loberg Family on the passing of their grandmother, my family as they prepare to spread my grandmother's ashes, Katie and her job situation, my job situation, LeAnn and the baby, Donna, and all of our family.

P.S. Happy Father's Day, in case I don't post before Sunday!!!!!

Semi-weekly update

Ok, so I know that we have posted a lot recently. There has been a lot going on.

My grandma's things are being distributed and her house is being cleaned up.

LeAnn and the baby are both doing perfectly. The baby is in the 50th percentile for size and weight (weighing over 1.6 pounds).

My job situation should be decided this week. They are giving 200 people their pink slips. I should not be one of them, if the director and assistant director's words are correct.

The townhouse is gone. We no longer own it. That closed on Friday.

The Tucson is going to be paid off on Friday. We made enough from the townhouse to do this.

I should be getting a new car on Saturday. I am getting a Hyundai Sonata.

I will post more later. It is time for Church.
