Pumpkin Patch

Nathan, Grandma, and I went to the pumpkin patch at Agua Linda Farms today. We patted horses, swung on tires, bounced in a jumping castle, took a hay ride pulled by a tractor, and picked pumpkins.  Nathan was especially thrilled by the horse and the tractor.  On the way home we stopped at a rest stop near Amado and had a picnic lunch.  A good time was had by all and a little boy crashed in the car on the way home.  The last picture is the pumpkins that Nathan picked out in the pumpkin patch.  He seems to think that they are kind of like a big apple.  He keeps trying to take a bite out of them!

Happy 4th of July

On our way to Grandma and Grandad's house for the big bbq and swimming. Just a quick stop at the auto parts store first for a radiator hose and some radiator fluid. One of the hoses on my car burst yesterday. :(
Hmmm a quick stop has turned into a hunt... the part is not even carried at the first place we stopped. Luckily the parts stores are open today and it is something that David can fix if we can find the part!

Fireman Nathan

Today Nathan and I went with Granddad and Grandma to a late birthday lunch at A Taste of India. The food was excellent and Nathan stuffed himself with lentils. When we came out of the restaurant there was a fire engine sitting there. Nathan was fascinated and wanted to go see it. The nice firemen were very kind to him and let him climb all over the engine. They even gave him a hat, badge, and stickers. The whole time he was in the fire engine Nathan kept saying ooooh and hiya! As they left they even turned on their lights for him. He was so excited! Nathan wouldn't sit still for a picture so this is not the best, but you get the idea.

Fairs and Fun

We whiled away a couple of hours at the fair today. Nathan waved and yelled hi to the elephants, baaed at the sheep, patted the llama, and was entranced by the trains. He also was very interested in looking at the tractors and watching the merry go round. All in all it was an exciting day for our little guy. He passed out in his car seat on the way home.

Coloring?

Nathan's first experience with crayons. For some reason he kept wanting to sit on the paper.

Water is for drinking.

Tonight Nathan kept trying to lean down and drink his bath water. When I told him no drinking his bath water, he proceeded to dip his wash cloth in the water and suck on it to get the water out. I told him not to put his washcloth in his mouth so he stuck out his tounge and licked it! Gotta love the way his mind works!

Nathan and the yogurt

Nathan is learning to use a spoon. He is doing quite well, although by the end of the feeding he has a tendency to abandon the spoon. By the time he was finished with this morning's yogurt he had it from ear to ear, waist to eyebrows, and finger tips to elbows. He even had it up his nose! Needless to say, he was very happy with himself.
